I joined Smarter Contact in 2025 to refresh the product and build a scalable design structure for rapid growth. During my time, monthly revenue grew from $854K to $1.48M, hitting a record $22.3M ARR.

The Problem

Growth had outpaced the design. The mobile app lacked key web features, there was no design system, and every new feature looked different and took too long to build, creating friction and contributing to churn.

My Role & Process

I focused on the structural problems slowing down users and the dev team:

Design System: Partnered with Director of Engineering Jay to build an organized design system, now a full Storybook and Figma Component Library used daily by design and engineering to ship faster.

Advanced Filters: Redesigned this core tool from scratch, making it reliable and simple, saving an estimated $250K/year in churn-related revenue loss.

Automation Engine: Designed a zero-to-one automation engine replacing manual follow-ups with intelligent message sequences for lead nurturing at scale.

Mobile Evolution: Brought the mobile app to parity with web, adding features like Labels to match how users actually work on the go.

These changes contributed to our record-breaking Q1 2026:

- Revenue jumped to $22.3M ARR - 13.7% increase in three months

- Platform handles 49M+ messages monthly, peaking at 84M in March

- Customer Lifetime Value rose 35%
